Contract of carriage
It began in 2004 in the Venezuela-Cuba scenario, where Venezuelan patients were transferred to the Republic of Cuba for the solution of ophthalmological problems, in this scenario 176,000 Venezuelan patients have benefited.
In August 2005, the Sandino Commitment signed between Cuban President Fidel Castro Ruz and Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez Frías began, through which the intervention of 6,000,000 low-income Latin American and Caribbean patients with problems in the visual area, within 10 years.
Today CONVIASA transports hundreds of patients to Venezuela to be operated on for various visual pathologies. In this sense, since 2006 the airline has made 506 flights where 78,416 people have been transported.
